Food videos on my own accounts.

I run @waitwhatmj on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts, and @whereamimj, my other account, which is mostly Brisbane food spots. This is my creator work, kept separate from client work.

Korean food, the shortcut way.

Most of my 2025 videos were Korean instant food and quick home cooking. The Chapagetti one at the top of this page is still picking up views, more than a year after I posted it.

Brisbane · 2026

Daily life and food in Brisbane.

In 2026 my two biggest videos came from everyday life here: running for a bus, and trying Indian food for the first time.

Until August 2026, @whereamimj was where I posted Brisbane cafes and restaurants, and several of those venues co-posted the videos.

My own review, not a commissioned post. In October 2026, Jian Cha Brisbane booked me to make reels for the store.

Notes from my own feed

How I pick what to film, and where it goes.

Start with what bugs me.

My feed kept showing hotteok made from scratch. A Korean in a hurry buys the packet mix, so that’s the video I made.

Post only what an insider would nod at.

If I wouldn’t stand behind a Korean restaurant as a Korean, I don’t post it. A video feels local because of the details: the address, the time, the exact dish. Not slang.

Check whether I’m in it.

When a venue leaves it open, one question decides whose account the video goes on: am I in it? If I’m not, it goes on the venue’s account.

A Brisbane guide I run.

Instagram carousels and posts on bnelately.com about food, bars and things to do in Brisbane. I plan, shoot, edit and design it myself. It’s my own media, not client work.

What does your venue need next?

When a venue books me, I bring the same habits to their videos.

Send me your venue’s name for a free Palate Check. I’ll review your Google profile, Instagram, menu and website, then send the first thing I’d focus on.
